Sri Marakada Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple premises in Kanaji Nagar was the venue for a two-day Homam that was performed by Vedic pundits and the significance of the Homam was one lakh vundrallu a special delicacy made out of rice which is very special and sacred food offered to Lord Vinayaka was used in the Homam to appease Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi and the two-day event saw the participation of scores of devotees who took part in this rare event. The learned priests from Andhra, Tamilnadu, Telangana and Karnataka, explained the significance of the Homam to the devotees who were curious to know divine gospel from the Vedic pundits.
Prominent seers from Hampi his Holiness Sri. Vidyaranyananda Bharathi, Srinadha Sharma, And Sri. Mahadeva Shara leads the team of priests in performing the rituals. The event was conducted by M. Ramashastri Charitable Trust who performed the annadanam for more than ten thousand people on this occasion. Sri Methkuru Sathyanarayana Shastri and his wife who took part in this initiative said that the Homam will be concluded on Monday.
