AboutTULA:
“Tüla is a not-for-profit social enterprise that brings garments from Desi Cotton varieties traditionally grown by smallholding rain-fed farmers, with the Yarn hand spun by skilled Khadi workers and colored with natural dyes where ever required with expert guidance. The Tüla fabric is woven on hand-looms by master weavers, and the garments stitched by women and men from economically and socially marginalised groups. When you wear a Tüla garment, you can be sure that it is the lightest garment possible, both in its environmental sense and its fair trade sense. Tüla works to ensure that cotton seed diversity, especially of traditional varieties, is revived and seed sovereignty brought back into the hands of the community/farmers. Also Tüla ensures that community level collectives of producers, spinners and weavers, natural-dyers are able to improve their livelihoods by engaging with the whole value chain of organic garment production and marketing, from cotton production till the retail sales.”
