Two talented students, Deekshitha and Nayonika Das from CAL Public School, recently shared their inspiring journey in a special podcast after being recognized among the Top 100 Young Science Talents in India. The students achieved this honor through the prestigious SPOT 100 GENII program conducted by the Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation (VSSF) in association with ISRO Space Tutor. Their outstanding performance in the national-level competition earned them recognition for their scientific knowledge, curiosity, and dedication. During the podcast, they explained how the program helped them learn beyond textbooks and discover exciting developments in science happening across India and around the world. They emphasized the importance of reading scientific articles, newspapers, digital news platforms, and staying updated with the latest discoveries. Their achievement highlights how young students can excel when given opportunities to explore science in a practical and engaging way.
The students also shared memorable experiences from visiting the National Science Centre, where they observed working scientific models and gained hands-on exposure to innovative concepts. They were honored with awards and received encouragement from distinguished guests, making the experience even more meaningful. UNESCO Sponsorship supported their travel, accommodation, and related expenses, allowing them to focus completely on learning and participation. The program provided valuable national and global scientific exposure, helping students build confidence, knowledge, and future aspirations.
