Their ability to multitask, lead in multiple roles, inspire others, and uphold justice is the living Shakti that this festival celebrates. By remembering Dussehra’s history and embodying its virtues, women—and all people—gain the resolve to overcome evil in its many forms: inequality, injustice, and prejudice. Let this Dussehra be a time to honour feminine power, to grow with integrity, and stand up for good. Dussehra is celebrated in diverse ways across states. In West Bengal, it coincides with Durga Puja, where grand pandals, rituals, and idol immersions honor Goddess Durga. In North India, especially Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, huge Ram Leela performances and the burning of Ravana effigies mark Lord Rama’s victory. In Mysuru, Karnataka, the famous Mysore Dasara procession showcases decorated elephants, cultural shows, and devotion, reflecting the richness of India’s traditions.
