The Senior Citizens Welfare Association in Dr.A.S.Rao Nagr is one of the oldest Association which has an enrollment of more than thousand senior citizens who are retired from major PSU’s like ECIL, NFC and other government bodies who meet in their association premises on a daily basis and undertake various programs for the welfare of the aged. 
On Tuesday the president of the Association Sri. Krishna Murthy in his address urged that the senior citizens post their retirement should be treated well by their kith and kin as they deserve the respect and dignity from the society just like any other citizens. The association has a practice of celebrating the birthdays of its members on a monthly basis and all the members whose birthday falls in the month of July were celebrated and they were felicitated and a special lunch was ordered to celebrate the occasion.
