At 79 years of age, Emanuel Raj continues to inspire young athletes by actively playing badminton and promoting the spirit of sports. A respected Physical Education teacher from Wesley Boys Junior College, Raj sir dedicated many years to training students and guiding them in sports. During his teaching career, he trained and encouraged several talented cricketers, including well-known players like Venkatapathy Raju and Noel David. In those days, many parents and children showed special interest in joining Wesley Boys Junior College mainly because of its strong sports culture. The college teams regularly participated in tournaments and brought home many trophies, building a proud reputation for sports excellence in Hyderabad schools and colleges.
Raj sir often shares memorable stories from those energetic days of sports competitions. Whenever the college team won a tournament, the players and staff celebrated their success together at the famous Paradise Biryani in Hyderabad. These joyful celebrations strengthened team bonding and motivated students to continue performing well in sports.
