Reading Books Empowers Children’s Mind – Akarshana Satish Launches Third Library, at Kachiguda
How many children have the desire to read and learn but unfortunately have no way to access these resources easily? Many of us may take books for granted but not Akarshana Sathish. She is a schoolgirl with a vision who spent her time during the COVID lockdowns collecting thousands of books from friends and family. Now, she uses these books to open libraries for children in various parts of Hyderabad.
After opening her first two libraries in MNJ Cancer Children’s Hospital and Sanath Nagar Police Station, she recently opened her third library in the Special-cum-Childrens Home and Observation Home for Girls in Kachiguda. With 625 books stocked here, it is a boon for children to educate themselves. Akarshana wants all children to establish reading as a habit from a young age. She has also collected monetary donations to install a sanitary napkin vending machine in the reading room.
Her initiatives have created a lot of excitement and have received high praise from all quarters. For those interested in using the library in Kachiguda, they can contact 98431 43605 for details.
