Renowned handwriting expert Dr. Mallikarjun Rao recently participated in the Dr.Maxwell Trevor Cycling Welfare Association (MTCWA) Summer Camp, where he inspired and guided children on how to improve their handwriting skills. He emphasized that no matter which language a child writes in, clear and neat handwriting is essential and should never be ignored. Dr. Rao shared that good handwriting not only builds confidence but also helps in better understanding and learning. The camp 0was a great platform for young minds to learn the importance of proper writing habits, especially at an early age.
Dr. Rao explained 7 simple techniques to develop better handwriting: (1) correct position and posture while writing, (2) writing clear letters, (3) smooth letter connections, (4) understanding the upper, lower, and middle zones of letters, (5) maintaining proper spacing between letters, (6) slanting letters slightly to the right, and (7) keeping letters aligned to the baseline. Children were advised to practice regularly, write slowly and neatly so that their handwriting is easy to read for both themselves and others.
