With the cooperation of the locals, Kapra Lake in the Secunderabad city limits has been transformed into an environmentally friendly area. The idea of a floating island is proposed, with about 3,500 seedlings allowed to float in the lake. A thick mat of aquatic plants is built using material which buoyant in nature. This Its an On-Water Wonder where plants give life to nature at large. Man-made ecosystem is being constructed with styryofoam, bamboo, gunny bags & coir. These floating islands can also act as a nesting habitat for birds & lake flourishes simultaneously.
